"Bulla umbilicata" (a preoccupied name) is synonymized under Bulla occidentalis A. Adams, 1850.
Bulla occidentalis is the only representative of this genus occurring in the Bahamas.

Papyridea soleniformis also occurs in Abaco, but is less equilateral. The umbones are not as inflated, becoming flatter on the posterior side, and the valves are less colorful.
